I have been teaching at St. Patrick School since the fall of 2009. I love being part of the family and teaching at St. Patrick School. My goal for each student I teach is to instill a love of learning and also a better understanding of math and technology. Growing up on a farm near Clutier, Iowa, I attended North Tama School. I graduated from Mt. Mercy College in Cedar Rapids in 2000, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and endorsements in middle school and math.
Before coming here in 2009, I had the opportunity to teach and coach at several schools across the country. My first teaching experience was teaching 6th grade math and language arts for three years at LaSalle Middle School in Cedar Rapids. After that, I taught middle school math and literature at St. Anthony's in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for a year and at Armona Parkview Middle School in Armona, California, for a year. Before heading back to Iowa, I spent four years teaching 7th and 8th grade math at Pine Valley Middle School in San Ramon, California.
I was married to my husband Corey in 2007, and we have a son named Broghan born in 2012 and a daughter named Ainsley born in 2015. In my spare time, I keep myself busy running, biking, and swimming as I often compete in marathons and triathlons. I enjoy sharing my love of sports by coaching track here at St. Patrick School.
