I was raised in the small farming community of Early in northwest Iowa. My parents still live there and enjoy the slow-paced life I enjoyed as a child. I am the fourth of five children in a close-knit family. I love getting together for family gatherings to share a laugh and reminisce with my siblings.
In 1996, I graduated from Schaller-Crestland High School in NW Iowa and moved to Cedar Falls to attend UNI. At UNI, I majored in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish. While in college, I took the opportunity to study abroad in Spain at the University of Oviedo. After completing my studies at UNI, I began teaching at St. Patrick School in 2001. I furthered my education with a Masters of Educational Leadership at Clarke University in Dubuque.
In 2004, I married Marcus Kjeldsen, and we have four children: Parker, Genevieve, Eloise, and Isaiah who are all students (or former students) of St. Patrick School.
I enjoy working at St. Patrick for many reasons. I’m proud of the high academic standards the students, and my own children, are challenged with on a daily basis. I appreciate the achievements that come from these high expectations. I’m proud to be part of this school which has always been more like a small family. I've found through my many years here, that we are brought together because of our faith, and we support this common purpose through the modeling of love, patience, and sincerity in our teaching. I believe I am truly blessed to be a part of the St. Patrick community.
