I have worked at St. Patrick School since 1988, primarily with the 7th and 8th grade in religion, mathematics, and science. I enjoy working with project-based and cross-curricular units, where the students apply and practice skills in an integrated way as they prepare for their future. Some examples are A World in Motion (AWIM), Disappearing Wetlands, Jesus Freaks (studying martyrs), and Modern Day Prophets. Each year, my homeroom students select a special focus for service that meets a need in the local or wider community.
Some highlights of my career at St. Patrick School have been teaching my own children, celebrating the 8th grade Mass each year, receiving the Gary Dickenson Award for AWIM, receiving a Gold Star Award, and being named Mix 96 Teacher of the Week in January of 2007. These were only possible with the cooperation and efforts of the parents, students and all the teachers and staff.
I am blessed with two children, Steven and Stephanie, and one grandchild, Lily. I miss my husband, Greg, since his death, but enjoy the family life that he helped bring into my world. As a St. Patrick Parish member, I serve as a sacristan, Communion Minister, and adult faith formation facilitator. I am also a volunteer at Sartori Hospital.
St. Patrick is an extended family for me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to teach here!
