K-8 students particpate in technology instruction and use technology in their classrooms to enhance what they are learning in all subject areas. Our technology standards not only cover the skills each student should have but go far beyond. Students work on projects individually and in teams to deepen and enhance the learning process.
Students learn coding concepts and work on problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Students find that coding is fun as they begin with robots and visual, drag and drop coding in game-based learning situtations.
Technology provides teachers with effective ways to reach different types of learners and allows them to assess student learning through multiple means. Document cameras and interactive white boards facilitate class discussion and encourage active participation in the learning process.
Students in grades 3-8 are issued Chromebooks. Carts of iPads are located outside of the lower elementary classrooms. Computers in those rooms allow additional access to technology for specific learning needs.
Please contact Mrs. Sink if you have any questions about our technology program. We stress Internet safety for the protection of our students.
